Ryerson University -Telling A Different Story

Telling A Different Story Project:
Life and Regent Park

In partnership with Ryerson University and the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs, Telling A Different Story was an arts-based participatory research project that involved TKBGC youth arts presentations sharing experiences and stories of growing up in Toronto's downtown east community of Regent Park.

This video looks at the youth experience of growing up in Regent Park and attending the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs. It is part of a study by Dr. Lynn Lavallee, associate professor, Ryerson University and Ian Edward, executive director, Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs
Young people were asked to talk honestly about their feelings and to hold nothing back. Their creativity and responses may surprise you.
